4、Oral health
Bacillus coagulans BC99 has a longer colonization period in the oral environment than conventional strains. It works synergistically with Lactobacillus salivarius LS97 and Lactobacillus acidophilus LA85 to better inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms, promote oral mucosal repair, and relieve oral inflammation.
Relevant clinical documents and patents include:
(1)A probiotic agent with the effect of relieving oral inflammation and its preparation method and application
Bacillus coagulans BC99 exhibits robust resistance to stress, acidity, and bile salts, enabling successful colonization of the intestinal tract and exerting profound effects.
Lactic acid production
Bacillus coagulans BC99 possesses the ability to degrade lactose, glucose, sucrose, maltose, mannitol, and other sugars in order to generate L-lactic acid. It is a bacterium that ferments homolactic acid and exhibits resilience within a pH range of 2-8. Additionally, it has the capacity to produce antibacterial coagulins, lactic acid, amino acids, short-chain fatty acids, vitamins, as well as various digestive enzymes. This microorganism can effectively lower intestinal pH levels while inhibiting the proliferation of detrimental bacteria. Moreover, it enhances the overall intestinal environment and facilitates intestinal peristalsis by expediting food passage through the gastrointestinal tract. By accelerating transit time within the intestines and diminishing retention of harmful substances therein,it alleviates symptoms such as diarrhea and plays an integral role in promoting optimal intestinal health.
Heat resistance exceeding 100℃
The survival rate results depicted in the figure demonstrate Bacillus coagulans BC99 powder's ability to withstand temperatures as high as 120°C and 150°C for dry heat testing lasting 15 minutes. The corresponding survival rates reached an impressive 96% and 91% respectively. This experimental evidence confirms that this strain exhibits remarkable resilience against high temperature and pressure conditions.
Excellent antibacterial ability
Bacillus coagulans is a facultative anaerobic bacterium that, once established within the intestine, consumes free oxygen, thereby creating an anaerobic environment. It secretes antibacterial substances such as lactic acid and coagulin to inhibit the growth of aerobic harmful bacteria. Furthermore, it stimulates the proliferation of anaerobic probiotics like lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, thus restoring and maintaining a harmonious microecology within the gut flora. The primary metabolite of Bacillus coagulans BC99 was subjected to treatment with various proteases, resulting in different sizes of inhibition zones against indicator bacteria as depicted in the figure. Experimental findings have demonstrated that Bacillus coagulans BC99 has the ability to produce bacteriocins and exhibit certain antagonistic effects on pathogenic bacteria.
Acid and bile salt resistant
The Bacillus coagulans BC99 strain was subjected to a challenging environment, enduring the harsh conditions of simulated gastric acid with a pH of 3.0 for a duration of 2 hours, followed by exposure to simulated bile salt concentration at 0.3% for an additional 2 hours. The quantification of spores was meticulously conducted and visually depicted in the accompanying figure. Remarkably, experimental findings unequivocally demonstrate the exceptional resilience of this particular strain against both acidic and bile salt environments.
High stability
Bacillus coagulans BC99 powder exhibits exceptional stability, boasting a remarkable survival rate of 99% when stored at -18°C or lower for a period of 24 months. Even when subjected to the less favorable conditions of being stored at 25°C for the same duration, it still maintains an impressive survival rate of 90%. Rigorous experiments have unequivocally demonstrated the extraordinary stability possessed by this particular strain.
The Bacillus coagulans BC99 exhibits remarkable resistance to elevated temperatures and pressures. Even when subjected to dry heat conditions of 150°C, it displays an exceptionally high rate of survival. In comparison to conventional probiotics, BC99 possesses distinctive processing characteristics, rendering it impervious to heat, acidity, freezing temperatures, and bile salts. Consequently, it can be effectively utilized in various applications where traditional probiotics are deemed unsuitable; such as gummies, cereal preparations, chocolate products, baked goods and more.
